COAST ABATEMENT SERVICES, INC.

ASBESTOS

At COAST ABATEMENT SERVICES, we handle asbestos abatement safely, professionally, and quickly. Furthermore, our commitment to prioritizing your health and safety goes beyond ensuring the quality and speed of our service. At Coast Abatement Services we implement extensive safety protocols to achieve this goal.

Our asbestos abatement process includes:

  • We adhere to industry standards by isolating work areas where asbestos-containing material(s) will be abated. Utilizing industrial-grade HEPA air scrubbers, we create “negative pressure” to prevent the migration of asbestos fibers and dust outside regulated areas during work.
  • Our process involves removing asbestos-containing materials and debris in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, using wet methods, industrial HEPA vacuums, and other specialized procedures.
  • After removal, we further decontaminate work areas by cleaning horizontal and vertical surfaces within the containments.
  • At the client’s request, the containments remain in place until a third-party asbestos consultant conducts an independent clearance inspection. Regardless of the clearance inspection, our technicians perform their own visual assessment to ensure project specifications and client needs are met.
  • Once cleared, containments are removed, and all asbestos waste is transported to an EPA-approved disposal site following applicable regulations.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

  • To ensure the safety of yourself, your family, and/or employees, choose only asbestos abatement contractors certified by DOSH, as risking safety to save a few dollars is not advisable.
  • Improper asbestos removal can lead to higher-end costs due to fines and additional expenses for cleaning up a site contaminated by incorrectly removed asbestos-containing materials according to state and federal regulations.
  • Dumping asbestos-containing materials at an unauthorized waste disposal site, including municipal waste containers, is illegal and can result in substantial fines, cleanup costs, and, in some cases, incarceration.

QUICK FACTS

  • What is asbestos? Asbestos comprises six naturally occurring minerals that were utilized in building materials and various applications due to their resistance to heat, electricity, and chemicals, as well as their high tensile strength. However, these minerals are now recognized as hazardous by numerous government agencies worldwide due to the health risks associated with airborne asbestos fibers, which can lead to diseases such as mesothelioma, asbestosis, and lung cancer.
  • How do I know if my building has asbestos? A Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) should inspect all buildings before any work, including abatement, begins. The CAC assesses and samples all potentially disturbed materials, and only samples collected by a CAC and analyzed by a NVLAP accredited laboratory are considered valid under local, state, and federal regulations.
  • I already know there is asbestos in my home and want to skip the abatement process to start working. Is that allowed? Unless you adhere to all regulatory requirements, avoid cutting, dropping, sanding, scraping, scrubbing, dismantling, sandblasting, demolishing, and disposing of asbestos. Instead, contact COAST ABATEMENT SERVICES to schedule abatement by our qualified technicians, ensuring the safety of your family through state-of-the-art procedures and equipment.
